Vaccines, food for thought . . . .

There are so many questions about vaccines and the possibility that they are at the root of the rise of so many disorders in our children. Is ADHD a result of vaccination? Is autism? What about the connection between vaccines and cancer? For many of the questions now being posed, there are as yet no answers. You are in a difficult time and you must decide for yourself what you will do for your child.

Mama, that's a biiiiiig lake!
Mama, that's a biiiiiig lake!

But there are many questions only you can answer, no one living outside your home can tell you what to do on this one. Is your child an observer, or is she a doer? If she gets into the mix and has to experience life through touch and taste, and cannot be satisfied learning by watching others, you may need to take the risks and vaccinate her from things you cannot even possibly hope to protect her from.

The problem posed for most parents at this point in the child's life is that the deseases vaccines were developed to protect the child from can be dreadful killers. I would weigh the risks of the child's acquiring the disease and the consequences against the risks of her developing one of the disorders now being associated with vaccines. Where there is little risk, don't vaccinate, perhaps take the chance. Where the risk is greater, for what ever reason you must weigh all possibilities, and make your decision accordingly.

There is no crystal ball that will tell you the results of whichever course you take. You must look at all the factors and weigh the percentages of risk in either direction. No matter what you do, it will actually be a gamble. That is no fun for any responsible parent, and I do not envy parents today. Law suits are being leveled at people for not making the right decisions regarding child care on many levels. Do not let others decide for you, do the research, make up your own mind. There are places to look for the best information available. the CDC, the WHO, and your local health nurse in your county. These are websites and people you should consult. Tell your Dr your concerns, he or she may have some educational information for you to look at.

You are asking the right questions, don't let anyone dissuade you. Keep asking!

Thank you for the input and I appreachiate your support.

It seems that the Dr's I have talked to only want to tell me it is what I "should" do because others have done it. To me this really isn't a good enough reason to do something. As you said if I were going somewhere that the disease is running rampant I am not an idiot I would protect myself and my family as much as possible. It is the other shots that take the totals to such extremes that I just can't understand...

I don't think anything is black and white, but I do think that getting advice only from Doctors/CDC/and WHO who get a large portion if not a majority of their funding from the companies profiting from the distribution of the item. (The statistic I read that started this request was that over 80% of Peditricans don't vaccinate their own children.)

Do you know of any groups that publish information on the dangers? (I have some posted on my blog about vaccines, but am always looking for more information!)

Thanks again for the post!

No, I do not have, personally, any more information than you have. However I do have a friend who chose not to use every vaccination offered for some of the reasons discussed. I will contact her, and if she has more info, I will pass it on!

BTW, thanks for asking questions I can at least give some input on.
